The Pandemic has changed many areas of life and business over the last 2 years. What you may be surprised to learn is that it has even affected document scanning. We can all agree that having documents digitally stored is a necessity in this day and age. The Pandemic just further highlighted the need to be able to digitally access records from anywhere. County Clerks were especially hit hard with the change of back scanning needs.

The Kentucky State Legislature has now required all County Clerk’s offices to have at least the last 60 years of records digitized and searchable online within the next 5 years. Unfortunately, few have the capability to scan and securely store their records on such a large scale. That’s where Data Records Management Services steps in.

DRMS has been scanning, organizing, and securely storing records for over 20 years. We have scanned almost any document you can think of from Plats, Photostats, bound Deed books, Marriage records, Veterans Discharges and PVA cards just to name a few. Being CJIS certified means our organization meets the 13 step criteria required to meet all levels of cyber security, network creation, full available audits and encryption compliance, etc. as deemed compliant by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, and Kentucky State Police. We believe that this is just one more way in which we can continue and promote integrity within our field and Commonwealth.

Lastly, it is our fiscal responsibility to ensure that all our Commonwealth’s tax dollars are used in Kentucky and on the men and women who live and work in Kentucky. In the future, I believe we will be able to say that the Pandemic has played a positive change in preserving our state’s recorded history.
